MUNICH — The fervor over the 2008 BMW M3 coupe’s recent debut has hardly dissipated, and already BMW is introducing its new 2008 BMW M3 sedan. The 2008 model is just the second sedan to carry the M3 moniker in more than two decades.
Like the coupe, the M3 sedan uses a 414-horsepower 4.0-liter V8 engine, but couples this power with the practicality of rear doors, increased rear headroom and a larger trunk.
U.S. sales of the M3 sedan are set to begin next spring, with a cabriolet version to follow in late 2008.
What this means to you: By reviving the sedan, BMW hopes to challenge the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG along with upcoming competitors like the Lexus IS-F and the Audi RS4.
