ARTIC CIRCLE — Audi introduced its second-generation RS6 Avant last fall at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show, but this is the first time spy photographers have caught the RS6 sedan, now in its final stages of prototype testing.
Larger air intakes in the deep front bumper, a revised front grille, wide wheel arches and a new rear bumper with twin chrome oval tailpipes help distinguish the new RS6 sedan from the Audi S6.
The 2009 RS6 sedan and Avant will both be powered by a twin-turbo 5.2-liter V10 that generates 580 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed gearbox and Audi’s Quattro four-wheel-drive system come standard.
